A Faculty of Education is a type of faculty within higher education institutions that prepares teacher candidates for the profession, providing field knowledge, formation, pedagogical education, and general culture courses within a four-year education. These faculties, which form the beginning of the path to be taken for education, aim to train teachers in the most equipped and efficient way. Teacher candidates acquire the knowledge they will gain before starting their profession here, they get the opportunity to observe themselves before starting their profession by going on internships, and they discover which level they can be better at. For teachers to be of high quality and well-equipped, faculties of education are also expected to be well-equipped, foresighted, and visionary. It is possible to measure the value given to education worldwide by this. Since there are many branches in the Faculty of Education, it will be more beneficial to look at the success of the faculties of education and which one is better on a branch basis. It is also useful to know that some branches are divided into levels within themselves and that this is a situation that affects success. For example, in Science Education, Boğaziçi, Middle East Technical, and Marmara universities are seen in the top three. Marmara University follows later. A similar picture is seen in Primary School Mathematics Teaching as in Science Education. In another branch, Turkish Language Teaching, Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim, Istanbul 29 Mayıs, and Istanbul universities are in the top three. 

Success Ranking in Other Courses

In Social Studies Teaching, Istanbul University is at the top, followed by Yıldız Technical and Gazi universities. In History Teaching, Marmara, Gazi, and Dokuz Eylül universities are known to be successful. This ranking is the same for Geography Teaching. In Physics Teaching, Boğaziçi, Middle East Technical, and Marmara universities are seen in the top three. The same ranking is possible to see in Chemistry Teaching. The list changes a bit in Biology Teaching. The ranking is Dokuz Eylül, Marmara, and Gazi universities. In Theology, the first is Istanbul 29 Mayıs University. Marmara and Istanbul universities follow. In the English branch, Boğaziçi University is seen at the top, followed by Middle East Technical and Marmara universities. In Class Teaching, Istanbul, Ege, and Gazi universities are seen to be successful in the top three. In Preschool Teaching, Boğaziçi, Ege, and Middle East Technical universities are seen at the beginning of the list. Finally, in the Guidance and Psychological Counseling department, the success of Boğaziçi, Istanbul, and Ankara universities is known.

Although there are many faculties of education in Turkey, the best faculties of education in 2020 are generally similar, although the branches differ. It is possible to reach this ranking by looking at the base scores of the previous year and the rankings of the admitted students. It is beneficial for teacher candidates to look at this list and data when making university choices.
